    Our first attempt to hike The Enchantments was met with a prominent layer of smoke in the air, making it more difficult than necessary to do the hike. Once we reached Colchuck Lake, the first alpine lake you reach in The Enchantments, we decided to call it there and enjoy our day rather than do it in anguish. The Enchantments are one of the most sought after hiking locations in Washington, specifically in the North Cascades.
