Dept. Of Justice Says Seattle Guilty Of ‘permitting violence and destruction of property’

The DOJ singling out Seattle and Portland among its cities permitting violence and destruction of property.

The announcement comes in direct response to a presidential memo ordering federal agencies to look for ways to stop federal money from going to various cities, specifically out Seattle, Portland and New York City – each lead by Democratic mayors.

The Dept. of Justice accuses each city’s leaders of obstructing police efforts and stopping agencies from doing their jobs, which the memo says endangers it’s citizens, including those who are trying to peacefully assemble and protest.

The memo says federal tax money cannot be spent when safety is threatened.

Earlier this month, President Trump sent out a memo directing the Office of Management and Budget to map a plan to review federal funding for “anarchist jurisdictions.”

In its review of Seattle, the DOJ says the city allowed anarchists and activists to seize six blocks on Capitol Hill that originally became known as the “CHAZ” but then later known as “CHOP”.

Seattle Police ordered its officers to abandon its East Precinct inside the zone.

Investigations into the event have found that crime increased 525% during the time of CHOP, including by Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan’s own count: two additional homicides, six robberies and 16 additional aggravated assaults.
